School Priorities 2026-2027

LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE

• To further embed evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning to ensure consistently high-quality classroom practice across the school.
• To empower subject leaders to monitor standards, evaluate impact, and hold staff to account to ensure high quality teaching and learning at all levels.
• To build a strong, sustainable federation by strengthening shared practice, fostering growth, and establishing a new strategic partnership.  

ATTENDANCE & BEHAVIOUR

• To strengthen how leaders identify and analyse behaviour trends and individual behaviour patterns to ensure that responses are proactive, consistent and effectively support pupils to develop positive behaviours for learning.
• Pupils to develop greater responsibility for their choices and demonstrate improved attitudes towards their learning and the impact on themselves and others.
• To continue to improve persistent absence (PA) rates through targeted support, early intervention, and strong partnerships with families.

CURRICULUM & TEACHING

• Further embed our evidence-based curriculum to ensure that children know and remember more over time. (Ofsted 2025)

• To further develop our teaching and learning of ‘basic skills’ within handwriting and presentation in books and across the whole school.
• To further develop mathematics teaching through analysis of pupil outcomes and explicit teaching of mathematical fundamentals to improve fluency, understanding, and progress.
• To strengthen our teaching of arithmetic and calculation methods across the school.

ACHIEVEMENT

• To develop the stamina and quality of writing across the curriculum, particularly in the application of grammar and punctuation.
• Continue to develop the use of assessment information to identify gaps in knowledge and plan precise interventions so that achievement is improving across the school.
• To further embed and develop the application and speed of recall linked to timetables within Year 4 and beyond.
• To ensure appropriate challenge for all pupils, increasing the percentage achieving GDS at KS2 and strengthening progress across all attainment levels.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT & WELLBEING

• To develop the role and responsibilities of House/Sports Captains so they lead on whole school initiatives and planned activities.
• To continue and embed further our Climate Change Action Plan in collaboration with Eco Council
• To investigate and further develop our enrichment provision to include a multi-activity centre option within KS2.
• To fully embrace the new environmental programme called’ In the Know’ which focusses on waste and reducing our carbon footprint.

INCLUSION

• To further strengthen inclusive practice by ensuring that teaching and learning are consistently adapted to meet the diverse needs of all pupils, particularly those with SEND.
• To further develop our ‘Pathways Curriculum’ for EHCP pupils who are in upper KS2
• To ensure that the school's pupil premium strategy is understood and followed by staff, so that additional funding has a positive impact on the achievement of disadvantaged pupils

EARLY YEARS DEVELOPMENT

• To develop a coherent, progressive EYFS curriculum that clearly identifies the knowledge, skills and vocabulary children will acquire from Nursery to Reception.
• To strengthen the quality and consistency of teaching through coaching, modelling and evidence-informed professional development.
• To enhance our indoor and outdoor learning environment that promotes independence, communication, curiosity and purposeful play.
• To continue strengthening communication, language and early reading through high-quality interactions and the ‘Little Wandle rhyme time and phonics provision’.
