Our key stage two is led by Mrs.Oliveri and Mrs.Loizou- who are also our Year 6 teachers and English leads.
Key stage two is comprised of lower key-stage two which includes years 3 and 4 and upper key-stage two which includes years 5 and 6. KS2 covers all compulsory national curriculum subjects. These are English, maths, science, history, geography, computing, PE, art and design and music.
In key stage two, children learn to work in a more structured and formal way. However, there is an emphasis on fun and creative lessons that allow children to express themselves. There is a strong focus on reading, where children take part in focussed guided reading sessions throughout the week, and are encouraged to read at home and have their reading records signed. In lower KS2, parents are encouraged to monitor this daily reading and sign the record. In upper KS2, the children are responsible for reading daily and recording in their reading record. This fosters independent learning and is in line with our value of responsibility. Weekly spellings are displayed within classrooms and children are made aware of these new focus words each week.

In KS2 we want all children to achieve their very best and we believe this can be achieved if children are happy in their learning environment and secure in their relationships with their peers and the adults they work with. When we work together, we suport each other to grow and flourish into unique individuals.
